When the men in stripes crossed the finish line with all 9 of their riders, they were one of only two groups to finish as a team. Stage after stage, Trek Factory Racing’s directors spoke of the teamwork between the Giro squad members. The young riders often worked together to help position the best rider for the stage in optimal positions.
It paid off.
Twenty-one stages later, Trek Factory Racing walked away with some significant accomplishments including:
Top 10 General Classification: Robert Kiserlovski
Climber’s Jersey: Julian Arredondo
Stage 18 Win: Julian Arredondo
And A Notable Effort By Giacomo Nizzolo, Who Sprinted Four Times Into Second Place In The Bunch Sprints.
Nizziolo inches behind Stage 7 winner in the sprint to the finish.
"What the multi-national team lacked in experience (four of them raced the Giro d’Italia for the first time, for three of those it was their first Grand Tour ever) they made up with youthful vigor - and it was the work behind the scenes that pulled them together and pushed them in the right direction." – Trek Factory Racing Race Report
We’re proud to sponsor such an amazing team and can’t wait to see what the rest of the season brings.
