Ambassador Intentions for the New Year

Ambassador Intentions for the New Year

Welcome to 2022!

We asked a handful of our athletes to answer some questions about their plans this year. We tried to trip them up (figuratively speaking), but they don't miss a beat

    1. What are you most looking forward to through the winter season?

I’m looking forward to spending time with family and having great meals! My race season won’t start until March, so I plan to take advantage of the down time and catch up with friends.

    1. When will you dive hardcore back into training, or does it never stop?

I took a few weeks off after my last race, and now I am slowly starting to build a base (more volume, less intensity). I expect my coach to gradually add more intense workouts back into my training around mid-January.

    1. How do you want to shift your focus in 2022?

I want to focus more on having fun. For me, that means racing with friends and choosing races in great locations.

    1. What do you do to reset?

I always take a few weeks off from training in December. I know I’ve successful reset when I start to miss the hard workouts and look forward to racing again.

    1. What are you most excited about in 2022?

2022 will be my first full season racing as a pro. I’m excited to push my limits and race against the best athletes in the world. I know it will make me a better athlete.

    1. What are your favorite training products?

My Saris H3 smart trainer tops the list. Nothing beats the convenience of being able to ride indoors during the winter.

  3. One thing that I did in 2021 that I can’t wait to do again in 2022: race gravel! I did my first race at Unbound 2021 and can't wait to go back for more!

    1. One thing that I did in 2021 that I can’t wait to DO AGAIN in 2022:

Pick and choose events with a refreshing emphasis on NEW events to me, although still with plenty of tried and true standards that I’ve done before.

Raise a son and begin life as a family of four!
