We love Mississippi’s temperate climate for biking and camping. As the temperatures warm up and we transition into spring, the great outdoors of Mississippi become even more picturesque for your outdoor adventures.
Outdoor lovers, make Mississippi your next destination with these three campgrounds. And don’t forget your bike to explore the trails nearby!
Our Three Favorite Campgrounds in Mississippi
Tishomingo State Park
This beautiful park is punctuated by rock outcroppings and cliff bands. The campground has a picnic area with tables and grills, lodge facility, disc golf courses, compass course, hiking trails, playgrounds, multi-use field, volleyball court, and a swimming pool.
Rock climbing is available right near the campground by permit. Canoe trips and fishing are available on Bear Creek and the 45-acre Haynes Lake.
Lake Perry
This lake has a small campground that could be tight for large rigs, but if you’re tenting or have a small camper, it’s darn near perfect.
This quiet campground will allow you to nab a spot on the water and fall asleep to the sound of frogs and the rustling of trees.
Clear Springs Recreation Area
Set in the Homochitto National Forest, this campground has plenty of fun for the whole family. Located on the shore of a crystal clear lake with great opportunities for swimming and fishing, Clear Springs Recreation Area also has hiking and biking trails, hot showers, and covered pavilions for rainy day games.
No matter where stake your tent, you’re sure to collect memorable times while camping in Mississippi.
