GHOST Factory Racing never quits! All athletes found themselves well prepared. With eighth place, Anne Terpstra was able to secure a place in the first starting row. Caroline Bohé in 16th place secured a spot in row two. Nicole Koller and Nadine Rieder were also able to place in the TOP20 and secured front positions on Sunday.
Finja Lipp was able to confirm her performance from the previous week on Saturday. After her ninth place finish in Albstadt, she was more than satisfied with 16th place this week: "The start was much too fast for me and I tried not to let myself get rattled, but also not lose too much time. But I still fell back to 40th place and then had to work my way back up for the entire race. That kept me busy and I didn't have time to think about anything. I'm more than happy with a place in the TOP20 and had another great week with the team."
Nicole Koller was reconciled after her difficult weekend in Albstadt: "Today I was able to implement almost everything I had planned out. I had my head in the right place and even though the start was very fast I was able to keep it up until the end of the race. So I am happy with this weekend and hope to build on it. Thanks for the support, it was nice to see how everyone stood by me in every situation. That gives you a good feeling even when things aren't going so well."
Nadine Rieder saw significant improvement especially compared to previous experiences in Nove Mesto: "I used to hate this track with all its roots and technical sections. This time I had a good feeling the entire weekend and even though I still have potential to improve technically I see the progress compared to the first races and especially to all my previous races here. The race today was another good step forward, there is still plenty of time left in the season and I'm looking forward to the upcoming races!"
Anne Terpstra was dissatisfied immediately after the race, especially with her first lap: "I couldn't keep up the pace at the beginning, suddenly I was 35th and in the middle of countless duels. From lap two onwards I was able to move forward steadily and from then on, my lap times were also at about fifth place pace. So I know what I have to work on and I'm happy to have brought home ninth place in the end. But today my congratulations clearly go to Caro, she has developed so much over the past years and today we can celebrate her first Elite podium together, what a race - Congratulations!"
The just mentioned Danish Champion Caroline Bohé could hardly believe her luck herself and was still speechless hours after the race: "For me the start was too fast, similar to Anne, and I was not in the TOP20. But my legs were just really good today and I was able to make up places right after the start. Not only the uphill but also downhill went really well today. Towards the end it got exciting again with Jolanda and Mona and even though I already knew at the finish sprint that it would be tight, I gave everything to defend the podium position and not to fall back to sixth place. So I defended fifth place instead of really aiming for fourth. I will do that next time. Thanks to everyone who supported me on the way here, today my coach was there, the fans and the weeks with the team were just super cool and I can't stop smiling."
The strong performance allowed the team to defend its overall lead and to compete in the fourth race of the season with yellow numbers yet again.
