I have had this trainer for a year and it has worked well, and I have never had any issues with it. For a trainer in 2026 it is a good choice. My main complaint is that it does not support Zwift virtual shifting. I ride Zwift pretty much anytime I am riding inside, and not being able to use virtual shifting is a real pain.
I was gifted the h3 back in 2022. It continues to serve me well. I’m a recreational rider that likes to push my physical limits and this helps immensely during the cold, long winter months of trying to keep in shape.
It’s been a solid piece of kit and the cost is fair. I love the heavy flywheel which allows me to maintain low power target while reaching average speeds of 40+ mph and 100+ rpms. The ability to maintain high rpms saves my knee during the hours long “base” rides. It also demoralizes my riding buddies hehe. I also love how you can get replacement parts to keep the h3 chugging along (no issues with my trainer yet).
Kudos to the Saris team for making this such a solid trainer. Most companies make disposable products now which is sad for the environment.
I hope Saris continues to do what they do. The H3 is and has been wonderful.
Save your money, get a different brand
Quiet. Solid. Very heavy duty build. Should last a lifetime with my Catrike 700. Thank you!
I've used it twice since my purchase. It runs smoother and quite than the original Hammer that I had. It transitions very well with elevation changes. Even during downhill, the original hammer did not do a good job keeping engaged with power. The H3 plus does an excellent job of keeping you pedaling with constant wattage output.
