Bones 3-Bike Hitch Rack With Easy Fold Design and Tilting Base

I love that this rack is lightweight while still being sturdy. I owned the previous version of this rack. It didn’t survive being rear ended but did protect my car. I wish the new version still included an integrated lock, but am otherwise pleased.

I was glad when a part broke before I even open the box, Saris was true to their word of lifetime warranty to replace that affected part. I'm not too handy but with the help of my local bike shop it was installed no problem. I wish I was more handy with tools b/c taking it on and off is still a slight challenge for me, but I'm learning. The rest is great. I do have a bike that needs a bar, and I had one, that happens to 'hit' right where the straps are, so I'm nervous it will not stay, but I think the devil is in the details/accessories for me. I would recommend to a friend. Good price too. Thanks

OK. So I'm 70 years old and not really strong enough to handle those big heavy hitch racks. This works really well. Not too heavy but well built. Straps are easy to secure and loosen (even better than the old Bones I still have after 20 years). The distance from the vehicle to the bike frame prevents scratching the paint though I do use a bungee cord to secure the front wheel. The hitch sways just a bit but I did not even notice I had it attached once I got going. Would recommend.

I bought this rack a few weeks ago when we decided to go to one car and that one car would be an SUV. If you have a straight bar connecting seat post to handlebars this rack is great. I bought the 3-bone version with the idea of hauling as many as two bikes at a time. The rack is easy to assemble easy to install and uninstall and it tilts to allow access to the hatchback cargo area. The only concern I have is for the Mountain bikes my grandsons have which are more of a step over/through design. In those instances mounting and dismounting the bikes is a lot more tedious.
