Absolutely love my Bones EX 3 (on 2013 Prius V). It's the start of every great mountain biking adventure for me and my two riding pals. My car sits in the sun every day so it's no surprise that the CA sun started to break down the black nylon straps. I was very happy Saris offered a kit of replacement straps to keep me going for the next 5 years. However I was disappointed when they arrived that the kit included only the 6 extension straps that extend from the Bones frame to the edges of the car hatch. The set did not include the 'core' set of webbing + hardware that sits inside the Bones main tube. That means that the parts of the original core that have now already seen a few years of sunlight are the very weak link in the system. The new strong extension straps can be tightened but they're pulling against an older set of straps which unfortunately also happen to be pulled taut over the edge of the core tube. It seems very likely that when my rack fails it is going to happen with the old core straps. If this was a mistake please immediately ship me the missing core strap set thank you so much.
