On a previous class A motor home, we had the Hollywood Racks offering. We sold it when we sold that motor home and ended up looking for something new when we bought an Airstream Interstate 19 Class B on the Sprinter 2500 chassis. This new option by Saris truly raises the bar. It’s a lot simpler than the Hollywood and just as solid.
At first, I was a little uneasy with clamping only the wheels (versus the frame or seat post clamps on the Hollywood), but this thing is super solid and stout. Our 75-pound e-bikes don’t budge while underway.
It’s important to note a couple of things: 1) you need to purchase the fender adapters for fendered bikes (they work perfectly), and 2) when you put the rack in the lowest below-level position (with the bikes removed), you CAN fully open the rear doors. They just clear the rack.
When the rack is empty and stowed in the fully upright position, the license plate is clearly visible between the two bike trays. I also added the excellent lighting accessory, which is super bright and comes with a special wiring harness adapter that allows the lights to operate without messing with the Sprinter's electronics system (without it, the left signal fast-blinks even though everything otherwise works properly).
Love this rack!
